신형 카니발 공개후 미국 네티즌들 반응 +344 [14]

이곳 캐나다에서 미니밴은 참 많이 팔리는 차급중의 하나죠. 주로 7~8인승인데 다지 캐러반하고 시에나, 오딧세이가 시장을 3등분하고 있는 형국입니다. 그중 캐러반은 싼 맛에 사는 차고 시에나나 오딧세이는 꽤 비싸게 팔리죠. 기아 카니발(세도나)은 그다지 존재감이 없습니다. 디자인도 밋밋하고 기름도 많이 먹고해서 별 인기도 없어서 가끔가다 한대 보일 정도네요. 

신형 카니발의 디자인이 뉴욕 오토쇼를 앞두고 사전에 공개됐는데 북미의 자동차 사이트들에서도 이 소식이 1면에서 비교적 크게 다뤄졌습니다. 

당연히 아직 시승기 같은 것은 없구요. 일단 디자인 자체에 대한 모터 트렌드의 평가는 좋네요. 

그리고 모터 트렌드에 달린 미국인들의 (미국인이 아닌 사람도 있겠지만 그래도 대부분은 양키들인듯) 반응을 옮겨봤습니다. 역시 대부분은 디자인에 대해서는 매우 좋게 평가하는 것 같네요. 가장 많이 나오는 댓글들이 "미니밴 중 최고의 디자인이다"라는 표현들입니다. 좋은 글 나쁜글 가리지 않고 다 실었습니다.

This looks to be a fantastic minivan. The interior color combinations are very pleasant to the eye. The dash layout is simply the cleanest and most beautiful to ever reside in a minivan. Kia is making great strides with its cars and they deserve all the credit. Let's hope consumers notice.

WOW, I only like (or hate) bits and pieces of different minivans. But this one from KIA is a very sharp looking minivan all around with great attentions given to details. Impressive!

와우. 미니밴들은 다 거기서 거기였고 좋아하고 싫어하는 것도 별 차이가 없었다. 그러나 이 기아차는 매우 샤프하게 보이는 미니밴이고 크게 주목을 끄는 디자인으로 되어 있다. 인상적이다.

I can't believe I'm typing this, but my gosh, what a good looking minivan. It's better looking than a LOT of CUVs, which, coincidentally, look more and more like minivans all the time.

Here in Canada, Kia also offers the redesigned and arguably more stylish Rondo, which appears to be selling well... I wonder if Kia will consider bringing that vehicle to America as well to increase the choice of people movers, or if they would be worried it might hurt sales of the new Sedona? Either way, if reliability proves well, the Sedona should prove a competent, stylish and competitive (finally!) van.

여기 캐나다에서는 기아가 보다 스타일리쉬해진 론도(카렌스죠) 신형을 판매하고 있는데 잘 팔리는 것 같다. (참고로 론도는 미국에서는 판매가 되지 않죠) 기아가 미국에도 론도를 들여올 경우 소비자의 선택을 폭을 넓힐 것인가 아니면 세도나의 판매를 갉아멁을 것을 것인가로 고민할 것 같다. 아무튼 차의 신뢰성도 좋다면 세도나는 스타일리한 밴으로 경쟁력이 있을 것이다.

If looks is what sells a vehicle maybe the Sonata and Optima should be amongst the leader in sales.

Hyundai and Kia pricing has been going up lately and sales going down.

Nobody does minivan packaging like Honda, and nobody gives you a smooth ride like a Toyota, the reason the last generation Sedona did not do well has little to do with style. Reputation and perception is everything to soccer moms, they will rather be seen in a Honda than the most beautiful minivan.

Starting price of a minivan is over $28,000 , they are not cheap so you will rather pick a $35,000 Honda minivan than a $37,000 Kia, and lastly the depreciation of any minivan is very high so more for that of a Kia.

만일 디자인만으로 차가 팔린다면 쏘나타나 옵티마가 가장 잘 팔리는 차가 되었을 것이다. 현대나 기아는 최근에 판매가 줄고 있다.

혼다처럼 좋은 패키지를 갖춘 미니밴도 없으며 도요타처럼 스무스한 주행을 주는 미니밴도 없다. (일제차 빨죠).

세도나가 최근에 안 팔린 이유는 디자인과는 상관이 없이 차가 후져서 그렇다네요.

가격이 2만 8천 달러가 넘으면 결코 싼 것이 아니다. 차라리 3만 5천불짜리 혼다를 사라네요. 기아차는 감가상각이 많으니 사지 말라고 훈계까지.

그러나 이 글에 대한 반박댓글이 있네요.

@eaglelo95에게. 현대와 기아차 판매가 줄고 있다고? 그렇지 않다. 그들의 판매는 해마다 늘고 있다. 최근에 부진한거는 모든 자동차 회사들이 다 그렇다.

시에나나 오디세이도 좋지만 미니밴 분야에서 새롭고 신선한 경쟁차종이 있는 것이 좋다.

기아는 사양이 좋고 가격대비 가치가 높다. 3만 5천불을 주고는 오디세이는 거의 최하급 트림밖에 살 수 없다. (역시 현기가 값이 싸다는 것을 잘 보여주네요)

Not a bad van, Kia! I like the high-level of finish and detail of the exterior. I wonder how would a SX trim look as I am highly tired of Kia applying the chrome treatment on the SX-L. That said, it won't be enough to topple the Chryslers and Honda.

나쁘지 않다. 기아. 외관의 피니시와 디테일이 매우 수준이 높다. 나는 기아가 SX-L 트림에 지나치게 크롬을 많이 집어넣는 것에 매우 거부감이 높은데 SX트림이 어떻게 나올지 궁금하다. 하지만 크라이슬러나 혼다를 뒤집어엎을 정도로 충분하지는 못할 것이다.

That's a very nice side view in the middle of the page. I will go out on a limb and say this is Kia's best looking vehicle in their stable with the K900 close behind.

사이드뷰가 매우 멋지다. 이차가 기아가 만든 가장 디자인이 좋은 차로 보인다. 다음으로는 K900 (K9이죠)이 근접하게 그 뒤를 따를 것이다. (K9 디자인이 좋다고 하네요.)

great looking van and those second row reclining seat and Nappa leather are levels of luxury no other minivan offers. The Koreans are really innovative while Toyota and Honda make absolute snooze mobiles and just rest on their laurels.

@eaglelo95 Actually, they have. H-Trac is an AWD system based on an RWD setup. Hyundai created an AC-system that monitors CO2 - O2 levels that adds O2 to keep the driver awake.

While you may think that Hyundai/KIA are simple auto companies, they are big in Korea where they innovate in aircraft, heavy industries, etc.

If KIA can create an effective ad campaign that shows off how bland and ugly the Oddysey and Sienna are, then I have no doubt that the Sedona can win many new buyers.

Years ago when Hyundai/KIA released a new design, people screamed afoul that it was a "copy", but I'm seeing almost none of it now. It seems many people are impressed with this design.

오디세이와 세도나가 따분하고 흉한 디자인을 갖고 있기 때문에 세도나가 많은 소비자들을 빼앗아올 것이라네요.

몇 년 전에 현기가 새로운 디자인을 선보였을때 “카피”라고 욕한 사람들이 있지만 지금은 그런 말이 없다고 많은 사람들이 현기의 디자인을 인상적으로 생각한다네요.

I'll never get a minivan, even if its the most economical choice for me and my family. There are only so many ways you can make a box look pretty. I'd rather have a full size CUV, which are basically minivans without the sliding doors anyway.

And on that note, this is one of the best iterations of a minivan I've ever seen. Good job Kia, looks like these Korean brands are working harder than most of the other car companies right now.

@planblove Not only are minivans more economical, they're far more practical as well. Far more passenger and cargo space, convenient sliding doors, etc. But hey, if you are more worried about how your image, get that three-row crossover.

@jayhawk815 @planblove Well if you need to tow something relatively heavy I would not recommend a mini-van, but if your not it is probably the best choice practicality-wise you can make. Also please do not judge a car on its looks solely, who knows Kia might have over spent on exterior design and left the rest to rot

미니밴은 힘으로 선택하는 게 아니라 실용성으로 선택하는 차량이라고 하네요. 세도나가 겉은 좋지만 나머지는 쓰레기일지 누가 아냐고 하네요. (푸하하하)

@DriveThru @jayhawk815 @planblove Why on Earth would KIA do that? KIA has been working extremely hard to do well in reliability. And it shows. CarMD rated Hyundai/KIA to be top in reliability/lowest cost to maintain.

기아가 겉만 번지르할 수 있다는 글에 대한 반박이죠. 기아가 신뢰성을 높이기 위해 엄청난 노력을 해 왔다네요. (어떻게 알까?) 그리고 CarMD라는 기관이 현기차의 신뢰도와 유지비용에 있어서 최상급 평가를 했다고 하네요. (CarMD는 처음 듣는 기관인데.. )

The Kia symbol should be in the center of that grill to break it up a little. No surprise the sketch looked better. Still not bad for a minivan that I will never buy. Then again I will never buy a minivan of any kind but I rent one from time to time. Everything Kia has put out in the last few years has been better than the last model. They have come a long way. Only thing that's left is a full size truck.

Pros: Looks great inside and out and I like the two tone treatment. Nice second row folding seat for 3rd row access (unlike the Odyssey). Removable 2nd row seats. Tons of foot space for the 2nd row passengers.

Cons: It's a detuned 3.3L probably trying to get those MPG numbers up. Has a penis shifter. 2nd row doesn't stow into the floor. Smallish NAV screen.

장점: 실내와 외관이 멋지다. 특히 투톤 방식이 마음에 든다. 2열의 폴딩방식과 3열 접근성이 훌륭하다. (오딧세이는 이 점에서 잼병이다라고 평가하네요.) 2열을 착탈할 수 있는 것도 좋고 2열 좌석 공간이 매우 넓은 것이 좋다고 평가.

단점: 연비를 높이기 위해 튠다운된 3.3L 엔진을 사용했다. 기어박스가 남자의 거시기같다. 2열좌석을 바닥속으로 집어넣을 수 없다. 네비화면이 작다.

Love the aggressive front fascia and LED daytime running lights. Puts a bit of a modern look to a otherwise bland type of car segment. good job!

Wow I can't picture the name "Sedona" with this new design. Probably the best looking minivan; however, I will still never buy a minivan.

It's safe to say that the entire Kia lineup went from one of the ugliest in 2009 to one of the most stylish by the 2015 model year.

2009년만 해도 기아의 차들은 가장 못생긴 디자인을 갖고 있었지만 2015년 모델들의 경우에는 가장 스타일리쉬한 차들로 구성되어 있다.
